The Gulf Coast – Texas and Louisiana
We wanted to spend a few weeks on the Gulf Coast, but the weather didn't cooperate. Instead, we headed east following the coast, exploring along the way.

We spent two days exploring the San Antonio Missions. They were strikingly beautiful, inspiring the reverence they deserve.
We visited the beautiful Hamilton Pool Preserve, McKinney Falls, and Palmetto State Park, with a stop at the emergency room, before heading to San Antonio.
We got back on the road to enjoy a visit to Enchanted Rock, find a castle, and spend a few days at two state parks, one with a waterfall and one on a lake.
We spent a month on the ranch in Texas Hill Country. It was a fantastic month of beautiful skyscapes, entrancing wildlife, good food, and the best company.
We spent a few days exploring Big Bend National Park. From Santa Elena Canyon to Chisos Basin it was spectacular with varying topography.
The next part of our adventure took us to Monahans Sandhills and Marfa's Mystery Lights. They were fantastic.
After leaving California, we visited the Guadalupe Mountains and Carlsbad Caverns before witnessing the grand conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn.
We stopped in Felicity, California for a week before heading further east. We made some great discoveries while we were there.
It was time to get out of California. We took the Pacific Coast Highway to enjoy the view on our way out. We enjoyed the military maneuvers on the ocean.
