While in the Front Royal, VA area, we popped over to Strasburg to have breakfast at Queen Street Diner.  It is a small restaurant in a small strip mall.

Being a fan of eggs Benedict, of course, that is what I ordered.  The eggs were perfectly poached and the dish was good.  My only complaint was with the tomatoes served with the dish.  They were flavorful, but there was a tomato butt on the plate.  A tomato butt is what I call that slice of tomato that has the stem in it.  I understand that restaurants want to cut down on waste, but this is something that I am not going to eat and I certainly do not want it on my plate.  It is a huge pet-peeve of mine.

Chris ordered eggs with bacon and grits.  The eggs were nicely cooked.  The grits had a nice texture but tasted as if they came from a box.  The staff was friendly but once our food arrived did not return to check on us or offer coffee refills until we had finished with our meal.

I enjoyed the inspirational quotes framed on the bathroom wall.

Cost for two cups of coffee and two meals $24.52.
