On our final day with Phil and Jenn, we went for lunch in Cape Canaveral, Florida, at Rusty’s Seafood & Oyster Bar. The guys arrived ahead of us and put our names on the list for seating. The restaurant was busy, so we requested the first available table. We enjoyed margaritas on the patio while we waited.
I was thrilled when they took us to a table on the back deck. Our table was in the corner, away from everyone, and right on the water. We couldn’t have asked for a better spot. It was nice to watch the birds and boats drifting by as we ate lunch.
Our server, Laura, was friendly, informative, and attentive, even anticipating our needs before we asked. Live music played on the opposite end of the deck. We could hear it, but it wasn’t so loud that we couldn’t talk to each other during our meal.
We started with a seafood dip and an order of Mac’ n Cheese Wedges. The seafood dip was delicious, packed full of shrimp and crab with little filler. It was topped with cheese and so good on the sourdough bread. The Mac’ n Cheese Wedges were tasty as well. How can you not love deep-fried macaroni and cheese?
I had a difficult time deciding on my meal because everything on the menu looked appetizing. After Phil’s glowing recommendation about the tuna, I decided on the tuna sandwich. The perfectly rare tuna steak had a flavor and lived up to everything Phil had said. The fries were beautifully crispy yet still tender inside.
Chris ordered the Tuna Tacos, with rare tuna, cabbage, cheese, and salsa in a soft tortilla, topped with an incredible avocado cream sauce. My sandwich was fantastic, but seeing his tacos made me wish I had ordered them for myself. He enjoyed the succulent tacos so much he didn’t even offer me a bite.
Of all the restaurants we ate in over the week, Rusty’s Seafood & Oyster Bar was hands down our favorite spot. The food was delicious, the service far exceeded our expectations, and the view was spectacular. In addition, Jenn had a 10% off coupon, which extended to the entire table.
Cost of two cocktails, an appetizer, and two entrees with the discount $45.74. Rusty’s is one of the few restaurants we have been to in Florida that did not charge an extra fee for paying with a credit card.
Both dishes look delicious.
This place was top-notch.
So glad you had a good food AND service experience! Cape Canaveral is on my bucket list, and I’m hoping Rusty’s is still in business by the time I get there.
They didn’t look like they were going anywhere anytime soon.
Wow! This place sounds (and looks!) fantastic. Sounds like a great meal!
It was my favorite place out of all the spots we visited during the course of the week.

You can’t beat tuna tacos on the coast. So fresh!
