Last weekend we went to Richmond, VA for an RV show.  We decided to make it a day with a round of disc golf at Gillies Creek, dinner and a concert.  We were on our way to Bottoms Up for dinner when we decided to head over to The Tobacco Company instead, in hopes of surprising our friend Ryan who works there.  We parked in the garage around the corner.  Upon finding out that he was not working, we decided to eat somewhere else.  Since we had already paid for parking, we walked down the street to see what we would find.

We checked the menus of the various restaurants as we walked, finally settling on Sine Irish Pub.  We sat at the bar and reviewed the cocktail and food menus.  The bartender, Regina, was chatting with some customers next to us.  After a few minutes, she took our drink order and returned to talking to the other customers.  We decided to order Beer Cheese & Pretzels, Smithwick’s ale cheese and pepperoni dip served with soft parmesan pretzels.  After many attempts to get her attention, we were finally able to place our order.

It took a while for the appetizer to arrive.  Disappointingly, the cheese dip had a film over it, obviously due to sitting in the kitchen for longer than it should have.  The pretzels were warm and soft with a nice parmesan flavor.  The dip had a rich beer flavor, not overwhelming, and the pepperoni was nicely disbursed, allowing for some in every bite.  The delicious pretzel was the perfect vessel for scooping up the wonderful cheesy goodness.

We decided that we would not order dinner after all.  We were both tired and even debated whether to skip the concert or not.  We decided Chris would have a Red Bull and I would drink an Irish coffee to see if it would perk us up.  This time I was able to make eye contact with Regina so that she knew we needed something.

I noticed Banana Fosters Bread Pudding on the dessert menu.  We offer a similar dessert at the restaurant where I work.  I was curious to see how theirs compared so ordered one when ordering the coffee.  Regina picked up some brownie points when she made a fresh pot of coffee for my drink.  The bread pudding came out quickly.  The large piece was somewhat denser than I normally expect in a bread pudding but had a nice level of sweetness with a kick of rum that worked wonderfully with the vanilla ice cream and caramel.

After our snack, we walked down the street to Bottom’s Up.  As we walked, a clock tower came into view.  The gorgeous full moon was right beside the lit tower, lighting up the clouds in the sky.  The view was absolutely breathtaking.  It was amazing that we were in the exact right spot, at the exact right moment, to enjoy this magical moment.

We did end up going to the concert and had an absolute blast.

Cost for a beer, a shot, a Red Bull, a drink, an appetizer and a dessert $55.25.
