On a recent trip to Midlothian, VA, we stopped at The Diner for breakfast.  In an unpretentious building, the restaurant sits on Route 360.

Upon entering, we picked a booth to sit in.  Our friendly server greeted us quickly and we placed our order for coffee while we looked over the menu.  The diner offers breakfast all day, as well as a lunch menu.  It surprised me to see they offer breakfast poutine.

Chris ordered The Jessie, two eggs with bacon and skillet potatoes (there is a choice of meat and a choice of side or bread).  His perfectly cooked eggs were good and the tasty potatoes were nicely browned.  The coffee was delicious as well.

I really enjoyed the Breakfast Poutine, eggs served over a bed of potatoes (I chose fries) topped with gravy and white cheddar cheese curds.  The fries were crispy on the outside, while still being soft in the center.  The gravy was tasty and the delicious cheese curds squeaked.  Adding eggs to poutine was a brilliant idea.  The luscious mixture of egg yolk and gravy, with the textures and flavors of the fries and cheese, was utterly delectable.

Cost for two cups of coffee and two meals $15.80.
