Charging our phones in the wilderness is always a challenge.  We have the Black & Decker Portable Power Station that works well while we are in camp, but there are times when it would be nice to charge our phones while on a long hike.  When offered the opportunity to test out the myCharge Adventure H2O Portable Charger, I jumped at the chance.

The charger comes pre-charged, so it is ready for use as soon as you take it out of the box.  This charger has a rugged, rubberized finish, making it waterproof, shock-proof, and dirt-proof.

At 6700mAh, and with two USB ports, the charger has enough power to charge two phones without depleting the battery completely.  Our phones took the same amount of time to charge as using a wall charger.  It did a great job when I charged both my phone and a portable speaker even while playing music.

The myCharge recharges using a wall charger, in the car, or with a computer.  I was impressed with how quickly it charged in the car.  I plugged it in on our last trip, and by the time we reached our destination, about an hour and a half, the battery had recharged fully.

I was using the GPS while driving, which caused my phone to lose power.  I was concerned about undertaking a long hike without a phone.  The myCharge has a carabiner attached, making it very easy to charge a phone on the go.  I plugged my phone in, and by the time we made it to the top of the mountain, I had a full battery on my phone.

As of this writing, the charger is available at mycharge.com for $39.99.  The package includes the charger and a short USB-C cable.

If you are looking for an easy to use, efficient, portable charger, this one is perfect.
