While visiting our friends in Merritt Island, we decided to go to Pizza Gallery & Grill in Melbourne for dinner. The restaurant is in a large shopping center, easy to get to with plenty of parking. As we walked inside, I noticed unique artwork by local artists adorned the walls, all available for purchase.

The hostess escorted us to a table on their patio. I thought it was fun that the menu kept up the artsy theme, with their pizza selections named for various famous artists. Our server was friendly and informative.

We started with an order of Crispy Calamari and their World Famous Garlic Knots. We quickly downed the beautifully fried calamari with tasty marinara sauce. The buttery garlic knots dusted in parmesan were delicious as well. They had even garnished a Bloody Mary with bacon and a garlic knot. It was a masterpiece itself.

There was a lot to choose from on the menu, and I had difficulty deciding what I wanted to eat. I finally settled on the Gorgonzola & Prosciutto Flatbread, a lovely combination of prosciutto, caramelized onion, gorgonzola, dried cranberries, balsamic, and mixed greens on yummy flatbread. It was a fantastic combination of flavors, making me forget the other dishes I had considered.

Chris had the “Michelangelo” Italian Pie, a concoction of tomato sauce, pepperoni, salami, sausage, banana peppers, and garlic on their original crust. It was another perfect choice. The crust was crispy with a tender inside and loaded with the toppings. There were several exciting pizzas on the menu, even one with macaroni and cheese. All the pizza combinations are also available as a calzone.

We will be returning to Pizza Gallery when we are in the area again to enjoy more of their fantastic menu and excellent service.
